Triggers for ADAS recalibration

Windshield Replacement 2015 Affected: IPMA, LDW, LKA, Pre-Collision Assist (if equipped)

Static IPMA calibration required (target-based, Rotunda 164-R5500 or equiv). Wait 24+ hours after installation before calibrating (glass cure time). Ford-approved glass only - aftermarket glass tint in camera sweep zone not supported. Dynamic drive confirmation recommended after static (45+ mph, lane markings, 5+ min). DTC B1A13 or C1A13 = failed/missed calibration.

Front Bumper Removal or Replacement 2015 Affected: Front Radar (ACC/PCA), Front Park Aid Sensors

Front radar mechanical aim check per Ford WSM (vertical and horizontal within ±1.0°). Inspect mounting bracket for deformation - bent bracket causes permanent misalignment. Park Aid sensor reinstall at correct flush depth (±0.5mm). Vehicle at curb weight on level surface before aim.

Front-End Collision 2015 Affected: IPMA, Front Radar, Front Park Aid, BLIS (if quarter panel deformation)

Inspect ALL sensor mounting brackets for deformation. Full IPMA static calibration + radar aim check + Park Aid verification. RCM evaluation for crash data. If quarter panels affected, check BLIS sensor mounting.

Rear Bumper or Quarter Panel Repair 2015 Affected: BLIS / CTA (rear quarter sensors), Rear Park Aid, Rear View Camera

BLIS/CTA sensors on P552 are in REAR QUARTER PANELS - inspect mounting bracket after any rear quarter work. FDRS scan for BLIS DTCs. Park Aid sensor depth check. RVC aim verify. No formal recalibration for BLIS but confirm mounting bracket integrity and run FDRS PMI verify.

Lift or Level Kit Installation 2015 Affected: Front Radar (vertical aim), IPMA (field of view shift)

Front radar vertical aim must be re-checked per Ford WSM after any ride height change. IPMA static recalibration recommended if lift is >1 inch. SAS zero reset required after suspension height change.

Wheel Alignment 2015 Affected: Steering Angle Sensor (SAS)

SAS zero calibration required at conclusion of every alignment. SAS communicates with ABS/ESC module and IPMA - incorrect SAS zero causes lane departure false alerts and ESC drift.

Airbag Deployment 2015 Affected: RCM, all deployed airbags, seatbelt pretensioners

RCM replacement mandatory after hard deployment (non-resettable B0001/B0002). Replace all deployed airbag components and pretensioners. FDRS PMI on new RCM. Full SRS system self-test and squib resistance check before delivery.

Any Module Replacement (GEM, PCM, IPC) 2015 Affected: PATS system - all keys erased

Any GEM, PCM, or IPC replacement requires full PATS re-initialization. All programmed keys are erased from GEM memory and must be re-programmed. Retain old module for as-built data extraction via FDRS if possible.

Forward Camera Replacement 2015-2019

Camera module replacement requires full recalibration using FDRS/IDS.

Forward Radar Replacement 2015-2019

Radar module replacement requires alignment/calibration using FDRS/IDS.

BSM Sensor Replacement 2015-2019

Blind spot monitoring sensor replacement requires calibration using FDRS/IDS.

Mirror Replacement 2015

If BSD sensor is mirror-integrated, recalibration required. Verify sensor location; use FDRS/IDS if applicable.

Windshield Replacement 2016-2020 Affected: IPMA, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, AEB, BlueCruise (if equipped), 360 Camera

Ford-approved glass only. Forward camera calibration must use the correct Ford service procedure and target placement for this vehicle year. Complete the required scan-tool calibration and road drive with visible lane markings after static setup. DTC C1028 is common after improper reinstall or bracket/glass mismatch.

Front Bumper Repair or Replacement 2016-2020 Affected: CCM (Forward Radar), ACC, Pre-Collision Assist, AEB, BlueCruise, Front Park Aid Sensors

Forward radar alignment must use the correct Ford service procedure and aim specification for this vehicle year. Perform the required scan-tool/static CCM alignment after bumper, bracket, or radar service. Inspect the radar bracket and bumper beam for deformation before calibration. Vehicle must be at curb weight.

Rear Bumper or Tail Lamp Repair 2016-2020 Affected: BLIS SODL/SODR, Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Park Aid Sensors

SODL/SODR PMI required via FDRS if tail lamps disconnected or replaced. BLIS fault will disable BlueCruise - verify BLIS operation before BlueCruise diagnostics. Rear park aid static calibration if bumper cover removed.

Any Collision 2016-2020 Affected: RCM, IPMA, CCM, SODL/SODR, all deployed airbags and sensors

Full ADAS scan mandatory. SRS crash data in RCM - reset or replace before delivery. All ADAS modules must be verified. NL3T- module replacements required - do not install ML3T- carryover units. Check OTA status after all module work is complete.

Lift or Level Kit Installation 2016-2020 Affected: CCM (Forward Radar), IPMA (if windshield angle affected)

Radar static alignment required after any suspension height change. Vehicle must be at final ride height before calibration. BlueCruise may be disabled if radar aim is out of spec - verify after calibration.

Mirror Replacement 2016-2020 Affected: 360 Camera side views, DDM/PDM BLIS LED

360 camera side alignment required if camera-equipped mirrors replaced (FDRS). BLIS mirror LEDs controlled by DDM/PDM - confirm LED function after reinstall. PMI if mirror module replaced.

OTA Update Failure / Partial OTA 2016-2020 Affected: Any module receiving OTA update (PCM, SYNC, IPMA, GWM, CCM)

A partial or interrupted OTA can leave a module in an inoperable state. Check FordPass/FDRS for OTA status before starting any programming session. Complete pending OTAs before FDRS work, or disable vehicle network access (WiFi/cellular) before starting.

Any Module Replacement 2016-2020 Affected: All programmed modules

FDRS PMI required - VIN coding and VBP (Vehicle Build Profile) write. GWM cascade updates may affect IPMA, PSCM, CCM, CMR. Save AS-BUILT before removal. NL3T- parts only - no cross-generation substitution.
