Performance and Tuning
ECU flash, TCM tuning, and PATS workflows for shops that build trucks and track cars.
Performance builders run into the same wall every time: the build is done, the dyno is booked, and the ECU still will not accept the tune because the security system is locked, the transmission has not been re flashed for the new converter, or the PATS is fighting a swapped key. We sit in that gap. We handle the OEM side flash, security reset, and adapt cycles so your tuner can load the calibration the customer paid for.
Where the work breaks, and how we fix it
Three failure modes shops in this vertical hit constantly, paired with the way we resolve each one.
- The problem
Stock ECU has to be unlocked before the tune loads
Late model platforms ship with locked bootloaders. We unlock and prepare the ECU for handoff to your tuner of choice.
Our fixPre tune ECU prep on Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota platforms
We deliver the ECU in a state your tuner can write to. Bench or on vehicle, your call.
- The problem
TCM has to learn the new converter and gear set
Drop in a built transmission and the TCM still thinks it is shifting the old one. We run the post rebuild fast learn and adaptation cycle so first gear feels right on the first drive.
Our fixTCM and dual clutch fast learn
Post rebuild fast learn cycles for the trucks and track cars that come through. We document the adapt run on the invoice.
- The problem
PATS and immobilizer locked out after engine swap
Swap a long block or a complete engine and the immobilizer rejects the key. We re marry the key and engine controller so the truck cranks and runs.
Our fixNo competing tunes
We do not sell calibrations. We prep the modules and hand the keys back to your tuner, so you keep the relationship and the up sell.
Quote, dispatch, verified handback
A simple three-step workflow tuned for performance and tuning jobs.
- 01Send the build scopeSend the VIN, controller part number, swap details, tuner handoff needs, and whether the vehicle starts. We quote prep work only, not a performance tune.
- 02Bench or on-vehicle prepWe prepare the ECU, pair security data, run required TCM relearns, or support the engine-swap start sequence by bench or mobile workflow.
- 03Hand back to the tunerYour tuner gets a communicating, verified controller path with notes on what was changed, what was relearned, and what still belongs in the tune file.

Questions before you send the job
Answers to the objections that usually come up before a quote is approved.
What does ECU prep include if you do not sell tunes?
ECU prep can include cloning, recovery, stock flash preparation, security pairing, and communication checks. We do not write performance calibrations or compete with your tuner.
Why relearn the TCM after a built transmission?
The controller still has old clutch, pressure, and shift-adapt data. A relearn or fast-learn procedure gives the new hardware a clean baseline before road or dyno work.
Can you help with PATS after an engine swap?
Yes, when the vehicle, key, ECU, and related modules can be authorized and paired. We confirm the security path before the build is scheduled.
Should the ECU be handled on the bench or in the car?
Bench work is best for standalone controller prep, cloning, and recovery. On-vehicle work is best when network communication, immobilizer pairing, relearns, or start verification matter.
How do you work alongside our tuner?
We coordinate timing, avoid overwriting tuner files, document the module state, and hand back a ready controller path so the tuner owns the calibration work.
Ready to move the next performance and tuning job?
Send the VIN, part number, or symptom and we will route the job to the right quote path.
