Why Brake Shops and Chassis Builders Choose Core Auto Logic

Modern ABS / EBCM modules are tied into stability control, traction and ADAS. A swap or repair without programming sets the brake light, kills traction control and can disable AEB. We do the full programming + bleed + adaptation sequence.

Bench Repair on Common Failures
ABS modules with internal valve-driver or solenoid faults can often be bench-repaired and re-programmed instead of replaced. Saves weeks of dealer parts wait on legacy platforms.
BENCH
Bleed + Adaptation Included
Every ABS programming job ends with the OEM-mandated automated bleed routine, steering-angle relearn and stability-control adaptation - so the brake pedal feels right when the truck rolls out.

What to know before requesting service

Start with year, make, model and a short description. VIN is optional for an initial request; we may request it later to confirm compatibility.

  • Is this the right service? We review controller faults and replacement compatibility. Hydraulic, sensor and wiring faults may require separate work.
  • Helpful detailsVehicle details, symptoms and module-label photos if available.
  • What happens afterwardBleeding, coding or calibrations may require the vehicle and the applicable factory procedure.
  • Price and timingThe quote identifies the accepted module work and any additional setup.

DFW onsite or nationwide mail-in for eligible module work. The accepted quote confirms the delivery path. Appointment and completion timing are confirmed after review; do not ship before acceptance. See our factory software directory and service terms.

A quote request does not confirm an appointment. We will confirm scope, price, and availability with you.

What happens next

From your request to completed work and documentation.

  1. Submit Your Quote RequestProvide the VIN, a brief description of the fault codes or symptoms, and whether you need mobile service in DFW or mail-in service nationwide. Quote returned within 4 business hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Controller repair concerns the electronic module within the accepted scope. It does not automatically repair the hydraulic pump, valves, wheel-speed sensors, wiring or other brake components. Diagnosis must identify the fault before deciding whether to repair the controller, program a replacement or address another component.
Some vehicles support used ABS controllers, while others have compatibility or security restrictions. Provide the vehicle details and original and replacement part numbers before purchasing. We confirm whether the proposed module can be configured for your vehicle and which vehicle procedures are required.
Mail-in EBCM service is available nationwide after review. Do not remove or ship the controller until Core Auto Logic accepts the request and sends the final quote and instructions. For approved DFW mobile service, no removal is needed - we program in place through the diagnostic port. Mail-in address: CORE AUTO LOGIC, 6805 MAIN ST STE 430 PMB 1015, THE COLONY TX 75056.
We can review the fault codes, replacement part number and work already performed. Configuration or calibration may be incomplete, but sensor, wiring, power supply or hydraulic faults can also keep the warning on. The diagnostic results determine whether programming is appropriate and whether other repairs are needed.
Repairability depends on the extent and location of the damage. Corrosion, damaged circuitry and unavailable components can make replacement necessary. Send clear photos and fault details for initial review; a final repair decision may require inspection. A repair estimate does not guarantee that every water-damaged controller can be recovered.
The OEM replacement procedure determines the required setup. Depending on the vehicle and work performed, this can include configuration, steering-angle or motion-sensor calibration, an automated bleed and vehicle checks. Bench service does not complete procedures that require the installed vehicle. The accepted scope identifies the remaining installation work.

Everything covered in this service

The agreed work is verified and documented before the job is completed.

VIN Pairing & Variant Config
VIN
Replacement modules require VIN write, vehicle configuration, and traction/stability control option-byte setup via OEM-level diagnostic software before full brake system function is restored.
Bench Repair for Water-Damaged Units
BENCH
Failed ABS control boards damaged by water or voltage spikes can often be repaired at the component level and reprogrammed - a significant cost saving over a new HCU assembly.
Module Cloning
CLONE
We clone the EEPROM data from a failed EBCM to a donor unit, preserving VIN linkage, calibration adaptation, and sensor zero-point offsets where the platform supports it.
Mail-In EBCM Service
MAIL
Mail-in EBCM service is available nationwide after request review. If accepted, Core Auto Logic sends the final quote and packing and shipping instructions before you ship. Mail-in address: CORE AUTO LOGIC, 6805 MAIN ST STE 430 PMB 1015, THE COLONY TX 75056.
Full DTC Scan Before & After
DTC
Every job includes a pre-work fault scan and a post-programming clear/confirmation scan so you have documentation that the ABS system left our bench clean.
1-Year Workmanship Warranty
GUARANTEE
Programming and repair work is backed by our standard 1-year unlimited-mile workmanship warranty. We correct defects in our completed programming work under that warranty; unrelated vehicle faults are excluded.

Common reasons customers book this service

Tap a card to see what triggers this service and which systems are affected.

A lit ABS or stability control warning with a C-code fault stored in the ABS module often indicates the module needs programming, calibration data update, or replacement and relearn rather than a full wheel-speed sensor swap.
Water ingress into the EBCM connector or HCU electronics is common after deep water crossing or pressure washing. A failed module can be bench-repaired and reprogrammed rather than replaced at full dealer cost.
New, remanufactured, and used ABS modules require VIN-pairing and variant configuration before stability control and ABS return to normal operation. A generic scan tool cannot perform this initialization.
If ABS engages at speeds or conditions where it should not, the fault may be in the EBCM calibration data rather than the hardware. Reflashing the module to the latest OEM calibration often resolves this without replacing the HCU.
Following brake service on vehicles with integrated electronic brake control, the module may require an automated bleed cycle and pressure sensor reset via factory software before normal pedal feel returns.

Factory initialization and flash programming
OEM SOFTWARE
FDRS / GDS2 / Techstream / wiTECH 2.0 / ODIS Required when the manufacturer locks the module setup or flash routine to the OEM portal.

ABS / EBCM Failure Indicators

Symptoms that point to an ABS module that needs programming, repair or replacement. If the mechanical brake work checks out and these still appear, the module is the problem.

ABS Light On Constant
C-codes (C0035, C0040, C1234) that will not clear after a known-good wheel-speed sensor or brake repair point to an internal module fault.
No Communication With ABS
U0121 "Lost Communication With ABS Module" with no response on bidirectional commands. Module is dead, bricked, or has a power/ground fault.
Traction Control Disabled
TCS / VSC / StabiliTrak fault on cluster, can be paired with ABS code. Module needs programming or replacement plus stability-control re-learn.
Brake Pedal Pulse / Hard Pedal
After service, pedal pulses on smooth roads or feels hard at startup. Adaptation data lost; module needs the OEM bleed and zero-point routine.
