Why Body Shops and Glass Installers Choose Core Auto Logic

Windshield R&R, bumper repair, suspension work and steering angle resets all invalidate ADAS calibration. Skip it and the vehicle leaves with lane-keep drifting or AEB disarmed - liability nobody wants on their invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions

We calibrate ADAS systems on most domestic, European, and Asian vehicles from 2010 through current model year, including Ford, GM, Chrysler/Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Nissan, Subaru, VAG group, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
Yes - if the vehicle has a windshield-mounted camera (lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, HUD). The camera bracket transfers with the new glass but the aim changes during R&R. NHTSA and most OEM service manuals explicitly require recalibration after windshield replacement.
Yes. We come to you within the DFW Metroplex. You need a level concrete floor, at least 20 feet of clear, unobstructed space in front of the vehicle, and consistent lighting. We supply all targets, tripods, measuring tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Yes. Every job includes a pre-scan, a post-scan, and a signed calibration report with module software versions, DTC history, and calibration confirmation codes. This documentation is accepted by all major insurance carriers we have worked with.
Single-system static calibrations (forward camera or front radar) typically take 60-90 minutes on-site. Full multi-system jobs covering forward camera, adaptive cruise radar, blind-spot radars, and steering angle reset run 3-4 hours. Dynamic drive cycles add 30-60 minutes where required.
Our work is backed by a one-year unlimited-miles guarantee. If a calibration-related fault code returns within that period we return and resolve it at no charge. We log every job with module version data so we can diagnose quickly on a return visit.

Common reasons customers book this service

Tap a card to see what triggers this service and which systems are affected.

Any windshield R&R on a vehicle equipped with a windshield-mounted camera requires forward camera recalibration before delivery. Without it, the forward camera can be aimed several degrees off-axis - enough to generate false lane-departure alerts or silently disarm automatic emergency braking.
Bumper cover removal, grille replacement, or any frontal collision work invalidates the front radar mounting angle. Adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation need a static re-aim after reinstall to restore OEM follow-distance and braking thresholds.
Quarter-panel, rear bumper or tail-lamp service can disturb the mounting geometry of blind-spot corner radars. A recalibration clears DTCs and verifies that cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist re-arm before the vehicle leaves the shop.
Any suspension component replacement, subframe work, or a new four-wheel alignment shifts camera-to-road geometry and changes the steering angle zero point. Static or dynamic recalibration re-establishes the reference before driver-assist features are trusted again.
Impact force travels through the body and frame into sensor mounts. Even sensors outside the direct strike zone can move out of spec. A full ADAS scan and recalibration is mandatory after any collision before customer delivery.
A replacement forward camera, corner radar, or surround-view camera is delivered in a factory-default orientation. It must be aimed and calibrated to the vehicle before driver-assist features will operate correctly.

How we plan this service

We use the VIN, repair details, and equipped systems to choose the access path and service workflow before the job starts.

ADAS calibration

Static vs dynamic procedure planning

Exact-year release rows confirm that late-model ADAS work can require a mix of target-board setup, subscription-gated static routines, and manufacturer drive cycles.

Module family
Forward camera and radar systems
Access method
Target setup plus road procedure when required
Workflow
Static or dynamic calibration
What to send

Send the VIN, repair operation, alignment status, tire size changes, and whether a windshield, bumper, sensor, or suspension component was replaced.

Diagnostics and secure gateway access

Secure gateway and DoIP checks

Some late-model ADAS and diagnostic sessions require secure authorization or Ethernet diagnostics before calibration routines can be completed.

Module family
Late-model networked ADAS
Access method
Secure gateway, DoIP, or OEM authorization may be required
Workflow
Authorization and diagnostic session planning
What to send

Confirm the VIN, module being calibrated, battery support availability, and whether previous scans mention gateway, DoIP, or seed-key access.

ADAS calibration

Target-board selection before arrival

The ADAS target catalog preview includes printed boards, flexible mats, OEM-specific target sets, and radar corner reflectors. We use that as a setup checklist, not as a promise that one target fits every vehicle.

Failure Indicators

Customer-reported symptoms that point to an invalidated ADAS calibration. If a vehicle shows any of these after collision or glass work, calibration is mandatory.

Lane Drift Alerts
Lane-keep fires false positives or fails to detect clear lane lines on the freeway.
ACC Follow-Distance Off
Adaptive cruise locks onto the wrong vehicle or sets follow distance too far or too close.
AEB Disarmed
Pre-collision warning and autonomous braking disabled in cluster - often with a C1A00 DTC.
Hands-Free Disabled
Adaptive driving assist features disabled because forward camera, radar or steering-angle sensor calibration is out of spec.
