Getting started
Who we help, where we work, and how to request service.
What does Core Auto Logic do?
We specialize in mobile ADAS calibration, automotive diagnostics, and electronic module programming for repair shops and vehicle owners across Dallas-Fort Worth. Eligible module programming, cloning, repair, and data-recovery work is also available by mail nationwide.
Our work focuses on the vehicle's electronic systems. Tell us about the repair or symptoms and we will help identify the right next step.
Link to this answerDo you work with vehicle owners as well as repair shops?
Yes. We work with collision centers, independent repair shops, dealerships, transmission specialists, tuning shops, and vehicle owners. You can request help directly even if you do not have a shop account.
If another shop is repairing the vehicle, include its contact and location so we can coordinate the agreed work.
Link to this answerWhere do you provide mobile service?
Our mobile service area is the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Send the vehicle's actual location with your request so we can confirm coverage, access, scheduling, and any travel arrangements.
Outside DFW, eligible module work may be possible by mail. Work that requires the whole vehicle, such as ADAS calibration, cannot be completed by mailing a controller.
Link to this answerWhat are your hours, and how do I contact you?
Our business hours are Monday through Saturday, 9am-7pm Central Time; closed Sunday. Office visits are by appointment only. Call (945) 382-4065 or use our contact page for general questions.
For a service request, the quote form is the best place to send the vehicle details, symptoms, and any supporting photos or reports together.
Link to this answerWhat information should I include in a quote request?
Send the VIN or year, make, and model; the service you need or symptoms you are seeing; and a way to contact you. For onsite work, include the vehicle's location. For module work, include clear label photos and part numbers for the original and replacement, if available.
Fault codes, scan reports, repair history, and details of anything already replaced or programmed help us review the request. Include your shop's repair order number if you want us to reference it.
Link to this answerCan I request help without a VIN or without knowing the exact service?
Yes. You can start with year, make, and model and describe the problem in your own words. Use the help-me-choose option in the quote form if you are unsure which service fits.
The VIN, module identification, or more detailed vehicle information may still be needed before we confirm compatibility and the final scope.
Link to this answerAre quotes free, and how quickly will I hear back?
Quotes are free with no obligation. Most quotes are returned in under 4 business hours during Monday-Saturday, 9am-7pm Central Time.
A request that needs module identification, additional photos, or compatibility research can take longer. An estimate is separate from any paid assessment or service work agreed for the job.
Link to this answerDoes submitting a quote request book an appointment?
No. A quote request starts the review. Your appointment is confirmed after we agree on the service, price, preparation, location, and available time.
If your repair is urgent, include the deadline and call during business hours. We will confirm what is available; do not plan around an unconfirmed arrival time.
Link to this answerMobile visits & diagnostics
Preparing the vehicle and understanding what a visit can establish.
Can you come to my shop, home, or driveway?
Mobile work can take place at an approved DFW location when the vehicle, access, and workspace are suitable for the procedure. Tell us whether the vehicle is in a shop, driveway, parking area, or another setting.
Some calibrations need specific floor conditions, lighting, clearance, or a road procedure. We confirm suitability before scheduling.
Link to this answerHow should I prepare for a mobile appointment?
Make the vehicle accessible, have the keys available, and arrange access with the person who will meet us. Share current scan reports, completed repairs, replacement-part details, and any known battery or electrical problems.
Follow the preparation instructions for your particular job. Calibration work may depend on completed repairs, alignment, tire setup, and a suitable workspace; programming needs a stable electrical supply.
Link to this answerHow long will the appointment take?
Timing depends on the vehicle, number of systems, procedure, and condition of the vehicle when we arrive. Diagnosis, security access, software downloads, missing prerequisites, or a required road procedure can affect the time.
We confirm an expected window for your job. A quote response time is not a promise that the repair will be completed within the same window.
Link to this answerWhat is the difference between a scan and a diagnosis?
A scan reads information such as fault codes and module communication. Diagnosis uses that information along with testing and repair history to investigate why a fault is occurring.
A code that mentions a module does not by itself prove the module needs replacement. Power, ground, wiring, network communication, configuration, and other components may need to be checked.
Link to this answerWill programming a replacement module make my vehicle start?
It can resolve a missing configuration or security pairing when that is the cause, but the correct next step depends on the vehicle and the fault. The replacement module must also be compatible and functional.
A vehicle may have more than one problem. Completing the requested programming or cloning does not establish that wiring, mechanical systems, or other modules are working correctly.
Link to this answerWhat happens if the vehicle needs more work than originally requested?
We explain what we found and discuss any change in scope or additional charges before proceeding with additional work. An assessment, programming procedure, and wiring repair can be different parts of the job.
Your agreed job terms explain the charges for your visit and how an incomplete or unsuccessful procedure is handled.
Link to this answerWhat if I need to change the appointment or the vehicle is not ready?
Contact us as soon as you know, using your job reference if you have one. Tell us what changed, whether the vehicle has moved, and when the required repairs or parts will be ready.
We will confirm the revised arrangements and any terms that apply to your booking.
Link to this answerADAS calibration
Cameras, radar, driver assistance, and repair preparation.
What is ADAS calibration?
ADAS stands for advanced driver assistance systems. Depending on the vehicle, these can include lane assistance, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and surround-view cameras.
Calibration establishes the required alignment or reference for supported cameras and sensors using the procedure specified for the vehicle.
Link to this answerWhen might my vehicle need ADAS calibration?
Calibration may be required after windshield replacement, collision repair, sensor or bracket replacement, bumper work, wheel alignment, or certain suspension and ride-height changes.
The trigger depends on the vehicle, equipment, and repair. Send the VIN and a description of the work so the applicable procedure can be checked.
Link to this answerDo I still need calibration if there is no warning light?
Possibly. The absence of a warning light does not replace a manufacturer's calibration requirement following a particular repair.
Tell us what was removed, adjusted, or replaced, even if the dashboard looks normal.
Link to this answerIs clearing codes or performing a scan the same as calibration?
No. Scanning checks diagnostic information, and clearing a code removes a stored fault record. Calibration performs a specific setup or alignment procedure for the sensor or system.
A pre-scan, calibration, and post-scan may all be separate steps in the same repair workflow.
Link to this answerWhat is the difference between static and dynamic calibration?
Static calibration uses a controlled setup with the required targets or reference equipment while the vehicle is stationary. Dynamic calibration uses a specified driving procedure and suitable road conditions.
Some vehicles require one method and some require both. The vehicle's procedure determines the method; it is not simply a choice between a shop visit and a test drive.
Link to this answerWhat needs to be finished before calibration?
Required body, glass, suspension, sensor, and mounting repairs should be completed before the affected calibration. Tire pressure, ride height, alignment, vehicle loading, fault codes, and workspace conditions may also matter.
We confirm the prerequisites for your vehicle. If something prevents a valid calibration, that issue needs to be addressed before the process can be completed.
Link to this answerCan calibration fix a damaged sensor or a bent bracket?
Calibration sets up a system that is ready to be calibrated. A damaged sensor, incorrect part, bent mounting point, wiring fault, or unresolved repair can prevent a valid result.
Send photos and scan findings with the request if damage or a replacement-part problem is suspected.
Link to this answerWill I receive documentation, and can my shop use it for the repair file?
We check and document the agreed work. Tell us if your shop needs the VIN, repair order number, scan information, or calibration results included in its repair file.
Documentation supports the record of the work performed. Insurer approval, reimbursement, and acceptance of a particular claim are decisions made by the insurer.
Link to this answerModule programming & cloning
Choosing a replacement and understanding the work it needs.
Which kinds of control modules do you work with?
Our service areas include engine and powertrain controllers (ECU, ECM, PCM), transmission controllers (TCU, TCM), body controllers (BCM), ABS and brake controllers (EBCM), airbag controllers (SRS), and selected driver-assistance, gateway, and other electronic modules.
Support is specific to the module and requested operation. A service category or vehicle listing is a starting point for review, not confirmation that every part or procedure is supported.
Link to this answerWhat is the difference between programming, coding, cloning, and adaptation?
Programming or flashing writes software or calibration data. Coding configures a module for the vehicle's equipment. Cloning transfers the required original data to a compatible replacement. Adaptation or relearning teaches operating values or completes setup after the work.
A single job may need more than one of these steps. We review what the vehicle and replacement module actually require.
Link to this answerCan you use a module from a salvage yard or another vehicle?
Sometimes. A used module can be an option on a supported platform, but matching connectors or a similar part number is not enough to confirm it will work. Hardware versions, software, security restrictions, and the required transfer method matter.
Send the VIN and clear photos of both module labels before buying a donor if possible. We can review the proposed replacement before you commit to it.
Link to this answerShould I keep the original module?
Yes. Keep it available until we confirm what the job needs, even if it appears completely dead. It may contain vehicle-specific data needed for cloning, pairing, or recovery.
Do not return it as a core, discard it, or authorize another shop to overwrite it before discussing the service path with us.
Link to this answerCan you clone a module that no longer communicates?
Possibly. A module that cannot communicate through the vehicle's diagnostic port may still have readable data through a supported bench or chip-level process.
Recovery depends on the controller and the condition of its memory and hardware. Water damage, electrical damage, corrupted data, or previous attempts can limit what can be recovered.
Link to this answerWhat if the original module is missing or cannot be read?
Tell us before buying or shipping a replacement. Another programming or replacement path may exist, but a direct clone requires the original data that the supported process needs.
We will review whether the replacement can be configured through another supported method and whether the vehicle must be present.
Link to this answerWill a cloned or programmed module be plug-and-play?
That depends on the vehicle and the procedure. Some supported transfers preserve the needed vehicle data; other jobs still require coding, security pairing, adaptation, or calibration on the vehicle after installation.
We confirm the expected installation and follow-up requirements when reviewing the job. Do not assume that a bench service completes every vehicle-side step.
Link to this answerDoes cloning preserve the tune and other original settings?
A supported clone can transfer original software and vehicle-specific data, including an existing calibration where the method supports it. The exact contents transferred depend on the module, its condition, and the agreed procedure.
Tell us about any existing tune, previous programming, or settings you need preserved. If the goal is a stock calibration instead, say so before work begins.
Link to this answerDoes a replacement transmission controller need programming or a relearn?
It may need software, coding, setup, or adaptations appropriate to the vehicle and transmission. Tell us whether the transmission was rebuilt or replaced and whether the controller or mechatronic assembly is original, new, or used.
Programming cannot establish that a mechanical rebuild is correct or repair an internal transmission fault. We confirm the electronic work included in the job.
Link to this answerCan a replacement BCM or ABS module need setup too?
Yes. Depending on the platform, a body or brake controller may need configuration, vehicle identification, data transfer, or another setup procedure after replacement.
Share the affected functions, current fault codes, original and replacement part numbers, and what changed before the problem began. This helps distinguish missing setup from another electrical or mechanical issue.
Link to this answerWhat if my vehicle or exact module is not listed on the website?
Send a request with the VIN or vehicle details, module label, and the operation you need. We review the actual hardware and workflow rather than relying on the model name alone.
Likewise, a listed vehicle or part number does not guarantee compatibility with a donor module or every available service.
Link to this answerMail-in service & shipping
Request acceptance, packing, tracking, and return arrangements.
Can I send a module from outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
Yes. Eligible module work is available by mail nationwide after review. Send the vehicle details, module identification, symptoms, and requested work through the quote form.
Availability of mail-in service does not mean every job can be completed at the bench. We identify any vehicle-side work needed before accepting the service.
Link to this answerCan I ship my module now?
Wait until Core Auto Logic accepts the request and sends the final quote, receiving address, and packing and shipping instructions. Submitting a quote request or seeing a mail-in status is not authorization to ship.
Follow the instructions for your particular job before removing or sending hardware.
Link to this answerWhich address should I ship to?
Use the receiving address supplied with your accepted job instructions. Do not use a business listing, an old label, or another customer's instructions as shipping approval.
Confirm the return address and contact details for your job as well, especially if the module should go back to a shop rather than your home.
Link to this answerDo you need both the original and replacement modules?
A cloning job often needs both. Other services may need only the original module or a different set of components. We specify what is needed after reviewing the request.
Identify which unit is original and which is the donor. Send only the parts requested for the accepted job.
Link to this answerHow should I pack a module or circuit board?
Follow the packing instructions supplied with the job. Protect connectors and exposed electronics, use appropriate antistatic protection for a board, and cushion the parts in a sturdy box so they cannot move or strike each other.
Include your job reference, contact information, and any requested identification inside the package. Do not write over or remove the module's identifying label.
Link to this answerWho pays for shipping?
The customer arranges and pays for inbound shipping. Return shipping is addressed in the accepted final quote; check that quote for the arrangements and charges for your job.
Do not assume a typical service price includes inbound shipping, a particular carrier, or expedited delivery.
Link to this answerWhat should I do after sending the package?
Keep the carrier receipt and tracking number, and share the tracking information using your job reference. If the shipment is delayed, damaged, or sent to a different address, contact us with those details.
A carrier delivery scan and your job's intake or testing status are separate updates. Contact us if you need confirmation that the package has been matched to your job.
Link to this answerHow long does mail-in service take?
We confirm the expected turnaround in the accepted quote after reviewing the module and service path. Shipping transit time is separate from the time required to inspect, service, and verify the module.
Unreadable data, unexpected damage, missing parts, or a need for additional approval can affect completion. Tell us about a deadline before shipping so we can review it.
Link to this answerDo you accept international shipments or walk-in drop-offs?
Our advertised mail-in coverage is nationwide within the United States. Contact us before arranging an international shipment or a drop-off so we can confirm whether the requested service and handling arrangements are available.
A listed business address is not a confirmed drop-off appointment or authorization to send a package.
Link to this answerSRS, airbags & safety modules
What module service does, and what the vehicle still needs.
What does SRS or airbag-module service include?
For supported modules, the service may involve crash-data clearing, a hard-code reset, data transfer, repair, or replacement-module setup. We review the module part number, VIN, fault codes, and crash or repair history to determine the service path.
Not every module can be reset or reused. The vehicle and module requirements determine whether reset, repair, or replacement is appropriate.
Link to this answerDoes resetting the airbag module repair the whole restraint system?
No. Module service does not replace deployed airbags, seat-belt pretensioners, damaged wiring, sensors, or other components. The complete restraint system still needs the repairs and verification required for the vehicle.
A cleared code or completed bench reset by itself is not confirmation that the vehicle is safe to return to service.
Link to this answerShould I send airbags, seat belts, or inflators with the module?
Our SRS work is on the control module. Do not send airbags, inflators, seat belts, or other deployable components as part of a module shipment.
Wait for the accepted instructions specifying exactly which controller or parts are needed.
Link to this answerWhy is the airbag light still on after module work?
A remaining fault elsewhere in the restraint system, incomplete setup, an incorrect module, or another unresolved issue can keep the light on. The current fault codes are needed to investigate it.
Contact us with your job reference and a fresh scan report. Do not assume the light can be resolved by repeatedly clearing codes.
Link to this answerCan you tell me how to remove the airbag or ABS module?
Removal and installation must follow the service procedure for the exact vehicle. SRS and brake-system work can involve specific safety precautions, isolation steps, or follow-up procedures.
Have a qualified repairer handle the vehicle-side work and wait until the mail-in request is accepted before arranging removal.
Link to this answerKeys, security & chip data
Current availability and the role of vehicle-specific data.
Are you a NASTF member, and what does VSP mean?
Yes. Core Auto Logic is a member of the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF), and our team includes NASTF-credentialed Vehicle Security Professionals (VSPs).
VSP credentials support authorized access to vehicle security information and participating automaker systems for legitimate repair work. We confirm the requirements and service availability for your specific vehicle before accepting the job.
Link to this answerAre you currently offering key and immobilizer programming?
Standalone immobilizer and key programming is currently unavailable. Contact us to discuss a related module issue before booking work or sending any hardware.
Link to this answerWhy can replacing a module affect the immobilizer or keys?
Some controllers share vehicle-specific security information. A replacement may not communicate correctly with the vehicle's existing security system until the supported setup or data transfer is completed.
Tell us about every relevant module or key change, including work performed by another shop. We review the supported module-service path and current service availability before accepting the job.
Link to this answerWhat are EEPROM and MCU data services?
These services work with data stored inside a controller's memory or processor when the required operation cannot be completed through the normal diagnostic connection. Supported work can include reading, transferring, or recovering module data.
Send clear module or board identification and describe the desired result. The exact memory type, hardware, condition, and data available determine what is possible.
Link to this answerShould I mention a failed flash, water damage, or a previous repair attempt?
Yes. Share what happened, any tools or files already used, whether the controller still communicates, and any physical damage or board work. Include the original files or reports if available and requested.
That history helps us choose the next step and understand what data may still be recoverable. Avoid further writes or modifications while the recovery path is being reviewed.
Link to this answerCan you help with instrument-cluster data after a legitimate module replacement?
Selected cluster or memory-data work may be possible after review. Explain the replacement, the original and donor modules, and the vehicle's actual mileage.
The scope is preserving or restoring accurate vehicle data for a legitimate repair. We do not offer odometer rollback services.
Link to this answerUnlocking, flashing & recovery
Supported controller access and the limits of our tuning work.
Is unlocking an ECU or TCU the same as tuning it?
No. An unlock enables a supported reading or writing path for a controller. Flashing writes a file. Developing a tune is the separate work of creating the calibration being written.
We confirm the exact unlock, recovery, or flashing operation in the quote.
Link to this answerCan I supply my own tune file?
For a supported controller, we can review a bring-your-own-file unlocking and flashing request. Include the ECU or TCU identification, the file's source, and the exact operation your tuner needs.
We verify the controller and completed write as part of the agreed service. The suitability and intended behavior of a supplied calibration need to be discussed separately; a successful write does not validate every aspect of a tune.
Link to this answerCan you recover a controller after an interrupted or failed flash?
Recovery may be possible when the controller retains a usable bench, boot, or other supported communication path and enough valid data remains.
Send the VIN, module identification, original files if available, and what happened during the failed write. Recovery is assessed for the specific controller and damage; it is not guaranteed for every non-communicating module.
Link to this answerWhat tuning-related work do you focus on?
Our focus is supported controller access, recovery, file flashing, and practical calibration work. Requests can include supported cylinder-deactivation changes, fleet operating needs, governor adjustments, or longevity-focused calibration.
We review the vehicle, intended use, and exact request before confirming the service. These descriptions are not a promise of a particular power, mileage, or reliability result.
Link to this answerDo you develop high-performance or race tunes?
High-performance tune development is outside our core service. Our role is supported module access, recovery, flashing, and practical applications.
We can discuss a referral to a dedicated tuning shop when the request needs custom performance development.
Link to this answerDo you provide emissions deletes or bypasses?
No. Core Auto Logic does not provide emissions-system deletes, defeats, or bypasses, including EGR, DEF, DPF, SCR, catalyst, or oxygen-sensor defeat work.
A request for unlocking or file flashing does not change that service boundary.
Link to this answerPricing, payment & aftercare
Understanding the quote and getting help with an existing job.
How much will my service cost?
Price depends on the vehicle, controller, service path, location, and work required. We review those details before confirming the quote.
The site lists typical mail-in services in the $100-$300 range, but that range is not a fixed price for every module or repair. Review the accepted quote for the exact work and shipping arrangements.
Link to this answerWhat is the difference between a quote and an invoice?
A quote describes proposed work and pricing for review. An invoice is a billing request for the work or charges recorded for your job.
Check the service description, amount, and any shipping or assessment items. Contact us before paying if something does not match the arrangements you agreed.
Link to this answerHow do I pay an invoice?
Use the payment link associated with your invoice or access the invoice through your customer dashboard. The checkout shows the payment methods available for that invoice.
Review the job reference and amount before completing payment. If the link is missing, expired, or does not match your job, contact us for help.
Link to this answerDoes a paid invoice mean my job is finished?
Payment status and work progress are separate. A paid invoice confirms billing status; the job updates show the progress of assessment, service, reports, or shipping.
If the information appears inconsistent, contact us with the job reference and invoice number so we can check the record.
Link to this answerHow do I check progress or send more information?
Use your customer dashboard to review the job, available updates, invoices, and reports. You can also contact our team with your job reference.
Keep follow-up details with the existing job when possible. Include new fault codes, photos, tracking details, or changed vehicle information so they can be matched to the right request.
Link to this answerWhat does your warranty cover?
Our calibration and programming workmanship carries a 1-year, unlimited-mile warranty. If a defect in our completed work appears, contact us so we can review it and put it right at no charge under the applicable coverage.
This is coverage for our work. It does not cover unrelated vehicle faults, the condition of customer-supplied parts, or the mechanical quality of a transmission or engine repair. We confirm coverage for your particular job before work begins.
Link to this answerWhat should I do if a fault comes back after service?
Contact us with the job reference, current symptoms, and fresh fault codes or scan reports. Let us know if any parts, software, wiring, or other repairs have changed since the service.
We will review the completed work and the new information. If a safety system is affected, have the vehicle assessed before returning it to use; do not rely on a cleared warning light alone.
Link to this answerWhat if I have a billing, cancellation, or refund question?
Contact us with the job reference and invoice number. We will review the agreed scope, the work performed, and the terms that apply to your job.
If you need to cancel, contact us before the scheduled visit or before shipping so we can confirm the next steps. Ask about any assessment charge or other term before confirming the work.
