Dealer Reconditioning
Key, cluster, and BCM programming at scale, with bulk pricing for used car operations.
Used car operations move dozens of vehicles a week through the recon line, and a single missing key, dead cluster, or coded body module can stall a whole row of inventory. We run a high volume programming queue tuned for recon: predictable per unit pricing, scheduled mobile runs to your lot, and a service writer who can quote a 30 vehicle batch over text.
Where the work breaks, and how we fix it
Three failure modes shops in this vertical hit constantly, paired with the way we resolve each one.
- The problem
Trade ins arrive with one key or no keys
Buy here pay here and auction lanes routinely send one key vehicles. We program added keys and run all keys lost flows on supported platforms with our key programming specialists.
Our fixVolume pricing on key, cluster, and BCM programming
Per unit rates that step down at 5, 10, and 25 plus vehicles per week. Set up a standing service contract and the rate locks for the year.
- The problem
Used clusters need mileage and VIN coding
When a cluster is swapped for a salvage unit, the mileage has to be programmed correctly and the VIN coded to match the chassis. We do it on bench or on the vehicle.
Our fixScheduled lot runs
Tuesday and Friday lot runs in the DFW metroplex with a guaranteed window. Send the list Monday morning; we hit the inventory in one pass.
- The problem
BCM swaps from theft recovery and flood units
Recon body control modules need the cars VIN, security data, and option coding loaded before the doors and lights work. We turn these around in volume.
Our fixSingle point of contact for recon managers
One service writer assigned to your account, one billing contact, one escalation path. No call center hand offs.
Quote, dispatch, verified handback
A simple three-step workflow tuned for dealer reconditioning jobs.
- 01Send the batch listSend VINs, stock numbers, key counts, module concerns, and the vehicles that must front-line first. We quote the batch and note any volume tier.
- 02Run the lot or ship modulesWe schedule the lot run for keys, clusters, BCMs, and quick module work, while bench-only units can ship separately to keep the lane moving.
- 03Close with unit-level notesRecon gets a per-unit completion list, exceptions that need parts or approvals, and one consolidated invoice for the batch.

Questions before you send the job
Answers to the objections that usually come up before a quote is approved.
How does volume pricing work?
Volume pricing is based on committed unit count, service mix, and whether work is grouped into scheduled runs. We quote the tier before the first batch so recon can price the lane.
Can you schedule recurring lot runs?
Yes. We can set recurring DFW lot windows and work from a stock-number list. Vehicles should be staged, charged, accessible, and matched to the approved batch list.
Do you handle all-keys-lost inventory?
Yes on supported platforms when proof of ownership and unit authorization are clear. Our key programming specialists confirm the VIN path before promising the unit.
Can you code used clusters and BCMs?
Often, if the donor part is compatible and the legal mileage, VIN, security, and option data can be handled correctly. We will reject bad donor matches before they stall the row.
What turnaround can we expect at volume?
Grouped work is fastest when parts, keys, batteries, and access are ready before arrival. Completed units are handed back the same run when possible; exceptions are listed clearly.
