Feature availability 4

Li-ion HV Battery (Replaced NiMH)

Confirmed

XW60 uses 1.87 kWh lithium-ion HV battery. XW50 used NiMH. Lithium-ion requires different charging/conditioning parameters in Techstream vs NiMH. Never substitute XW50 HV Battery ECU into XW60 - different chemistry and cell balancing algorithms.

Electrohydraulic Brake - Techstream Bleed Mandatory

Confirmed

XW60 Prius uses an electrohydraulic brake actuator integrating regenerative braking. Any HCU replacement or system drain requires the Techstream automated brake bleed sequence - manual bleed alone will not properly prime the hydraulic system. Failure to use Techstream bleed = spongy pedal and regenerative braking system DTC.

Base Hybrid Only - Not Prime

Confirmed

This record covers toyota-prius-2024 (base hybrid XW60). The Prius Prime PHEV is a separate vehicle_uid (toyota-prius-prime). The Prime has a larger 13.6 kWh battery, Level 2 AC 6.6 kW charger, and different HV ECU family. Do not apply Prius Prime procedures to the base hybrid, and vice versa.

OTA Capable - Toyota Connected Services

Confirmed

XW60 supports OTA software updates via Toyota Connected Services. Subscription required after trial. Wi-Fi required for downloads. OTA updates can update ECU calibration data, multimedia firmware, and connected services. Techstream diagnostic recommended before and after major OTA updates to verify no new DTC introduced.

WHAT WE RESOLVE

Common issues on this vehicle

Common Toyota Prius issues we resolve on this platform: TSS 3.0 Forward Camera (XW60 Prius - 5th Gen), TSS 3.0 Forward Radar (77 GHz - XW60), Blind Spot Monitor Sensor - Left (BSM), and Blind Spot Monitor Sensor - Right (BSM) recalibration after windshield/bumper/suspension/CCM service. Module programming for replacement ECU/PCM, BCM, TCU, or accessory modules - XW60 TNGA-C (5th Gen - Base Hybrid) platform uses Multi-CAN bus (PT-CAN powertrain/HV, Body-CAN, HV-CAN); HV Gateway ECU bridges 12V and HV networks; Ethernet for multimedia/ADAS; OBD2 DLC Pin 6/14 CAN 500 kbps; driver left knee area.

WHEN IS CALIBRATION REQUIRED?

Triggers for ADAS recalibration

Windshield Replacement Affected: TSS 3.0 Forward Camera (PCS+, LDA/LTA, AHB, ESA, ProAct); HUD (if equipped)

Static camera calibration required via our Techstream diagnostic software after any windshield R&R. Use XW60 WSM specifications - do NOT apply XW50 (2016-2022) target distances. XW60 hatchback windshield has different rake angle requiring distinct calibration setup. Level surface, Toyota target at XW60 WSM-specified distance. No obstacles in forward FOV. All TSS 3.0 DTC must clear before road test. If HUD equipped: re-verify HUD projection angle after camera calibration completes.

Front Bumper Repair or Replacement Affected: TSS 3.0 Forward Radar (PCS+, RCC, AEB)

Radar Techstream initialization required. Combine with camera calibration if both disturbed. No physical aiming - replace if mechanically deformed. Front bumper fully reinstalled before calibration.

Rear Bumper Repair Affected: BSM Sensors (XLE+), RCTA

BSM Techstream initialization for any disturbed sensor. Available XLE and above - confirm trim before quoting on LE. Verify RCTA function in reverse after BSM initialization.

Any Collision Affected: SRS ECU, all ADAS sensors, deployed airbags/pretensioners

Full Techstream module scan mandatory. SRS ECU: replace if DTC 51-xx present - no crash clear on XW60. All disturbed ADAS modules calibrated before delivery. HV Gateway ECU integrity check recommended after any significant collision affecting HV system.

ECM or HV ECU Replacement Affected: ECM, MG ECU, HV Battery ECU, Brake Actuator ECU, Immobilizer

CRITICAL: HV service plug removal mandatory before ECM or any HV ECU work. Techstream VIN registration, IMMO coding, injector compensation for ECM (TIS online subscription required). MG ECU: resolver calibration via Techstream. HV Battery ECU: verify cell balance and SOC. 12V aux battery must be strong - replace with AGM if weak before starting programming. Full HV DTC scan after completion.

Brake Actuator (HCU) Replacement Affected: Electrohydraulic Brake System, Regenerative Braking Integration

Techstream automated brake actuator power bleed sequence MANDATORY after HCU replacement - manual brake bleed is not sufficient for regenerative brake system. Verify pedal firmness, travel, and normal regenerative braking on road test. No brake blend DTC or HV DTC before delivery.

Smart Key ECU Replacement Affected: All registered Smart Keys (max 5 on Prius)

All keys erased on replacement. TIS dealer authorization required. All customer keys present for Techstream re-registration. REMEMBER: Max 5 keys on Prius (not 8). Verify all Smart Entry functions post-programming.

Wheel Alignment / Suspension Work Affected: Steering Angle Sensor

SAS zero-point calibration via Techstream after any alignment, steering component R&R, or suspension geometry change. Drive straight 35+ mph on level road after reset to confirm SAS relearn. Regenerative braking stability integration: verify no VSC DTC after SAS calibration.

12V Auxiliary Battery Replacement Affected: System Boot, HV System, Programming Capability

XW60 Prius requires AGM 12V auxiliary battery. Standard flooded battery replacement can cause unreliable system boot, OTA update failures, and Techstream programming timeouts. Any module programming should be preceded by 12V battery health check. Replace with OEM AGM specification if voltage or CCA is marginal.

Forward Camera Replacement

Camera module replacement requires full recalibration using Techstream.

Forward Radar Replacement

Radar module replacement requires alignment/calibration using Techstream.

BSM Sensor Replacement

Blind spot monitoring sensor replacement requires calibration using Techstream.

Mirror Replacement

If BSD sensor is mirror-integrated, recalibration required. Verify sensor location; use Techstream if applicable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

How much does ADAS calibration cost for a 2026 Toyota Prius?

ADAS calibration pricing for a 2026 Toyota Prius depends on which of its 8 documented systems need work after a repair. This vehicle is documented with TSS 3.0 Forward Camera (XW60 Prius - 5th Gen), TSS 3.0 Forward Radar (77 GHz - XW60), Blind Spot Monitor Sensor - Left (BSM), Blind Spot Monitor Sensor - Right (BSM), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). We provide a fixed quote after confirming the operations performed - send the VIN, the repair scope (windshield R&R, bumper work, alignment, collision), and any DTCs so the quote response can include a real number.

Can you reset the airbag light on a 2026 Toyota Prius?

Yes. The 2026 Toyota Prius uses a factory SRS control module that we support. We read and clear stored crash data, then restore the module to factory status so the airbag warning light goes out and the system returns to full operation. Reference part number on this vehicle: 8917047B30. Mobile diagnosis and programming are available in DFW, and mail-in module service is available nationwide. Send the part number and a description of what triggered the light, and we will provide a quote and scheduling window.

What is needed after replacing the windshield on a 2026 Toyota Prius?

After windshield replacement on a 2026 Toyota Prius, TSS 3.0 Forward Camera (XW60 Prius - 5th Gen), TSS 3.0 Forward Radar (77 GHz - XW60), and Rear View Camera rely on the forward-facing camera and require recalibration before the systems return to operation. We perform the calibration on-site in the DFW Metroplex with OE target fixtures. Mail-in module service is available nationwide for eligible module work.

How long does a 2026 Toyota Prius module service take?

Most 2026 Toyota Prius onsite jobs are typically scheduled within 24-48 hours once vehicle readiness, access, and route timing are confirmed. This vehicle has roughly 25 programmable modules documented in our database (5 ECU, 4 BCM, 1 TCU, 6 ABS, plus IPC/SAS/gateway/accessory). Mobile module work and ADAS calibration are scheduled in the DFW service area after quote review. Mail-in module service is available nationwide.

Do you cover the 2026 Toyota Prius on-site, or is this mail-in only?

We run a mobile unit across the DFW Metroplex for on-vehicle work (ADAS calibration, post-repair recoding, and supported module work). Mail-in module service is available nationwide. Quote the work and we will confirm the active service path for the 2026 Toyota Prius. Do not ship a module unless support confirms next steps.

What kind of warranty do you offer on 2026 Toyota Prius programming?

Every programming, cloning, and calibration job on the 2026 Toyota Prius is backed by a workmanship warranty covering the scope of work we performed: 1-year unlimited on all flashes, clones, and ADAS calibrations. If a module we programmed or a calibration we performed fails to function as expected, return it and we restore it at no charge. The warranty covers our work; it does not cover unrelated mechanical or electrical failure of the module itself.

Which modules on a 2026 Toyota Prius can you actually service?

We program, clone, repair, or replace the full programmable-module stack on a 2026 Toyota Prius. For this vehicle our database documents:

  • 5 engine control (ECU/PCM)
  • 1 transmission control (TCU/TCM)
  • 4 body control (BCM and related)
  • 6 ABS / brake control (EBCM)
  • 1 immobilizer / security
  • 2 key & fob
